Vent or Not to Vent?
Venting your storage box is as simple as drilling a hole, or is it? From the factory both HDPE and Fiberglass boxes have the option of vents installed on the plant floor. These vents are holes covered with a stainless guard. This is super important because if you drill a hole ion the floor of your unit to drain it, or on the side to vent it you will want to cover it otherwise unwanted rodent guest will quickly get in a destroy your gear.
Venting is important if you will be placing damp, wet or otherwise soaked gear into the box. Without proper venting your “safely stored” gear will become a moldy and otherwise destroyed mess. Remember, drilling your own vent holes is totally doable! Simply assure that you cover the hole with a high grade stainless cover.
